Love and Sacrifice

Love has a way of giving Man courage to do anything that is required of him on its path. When one is in Love every object seems to hold the reflection of one’s Beloved, every thought in one’s mind give birth to new possibilities and every action signifies a closer acquaintance with Love. This reflection, new possibilities and closer acquaintance leads Man towards the highest degree of Love, teaching him the traditions of Selflessness and Sacrifice.

Sacrificing one’s most dear thing can leave ever lasting impressions on one’s psyche. High degree of patience and zeal is needed for this act, without which it becomes impossible to carry out any form of Sacrifice.

We usually consider ourselves master of the things we have. At times it turns out to be the reverse. Soon after we take something in our possession, it starts influencing our thoughts and take control of our psyche. We can not think of ourselves living without that article. Only then we realize that we are no longer the masters but are being mastered by our possessions.

The tradition of Sacrifice can help us in this respect. Energy of Love gives us strength to practice control over our Self and the souls of our possessions too. Giving something away, without getting any personal benefit in return, results in a proportionate mixture of feelings consisting of Power and Humbleness. Power because we consider ourselves to have the ability to give away something hence has control over it, and humbleness because what we possess is not ours any longer.

Sacrifice can be for many causes. It can be for the Love of God, for the prosperity of one’s Nation or even for the nourishment of one’s own soul. Whatever is the reason to sacrifice something Love is the driving force behind it and Love is the end result of this practice. Love and Sacrifice go hand in hand. So if you Love anything or anyone never hesitate to sacrifice your most precious and valuable possessions for the sake of your Love.

On this note a very Happy Eid to all of you out there. May God bless us!

  1. I liked the strength of character with which the issue of sacrifice is dealt and it is so beautifully correlated with love that it conveys the transcendent and hidden meanings of both.

  3. Let me add I was struck in a special way by this statement: "When one is in Love every object seems to hold the reflection of one’s Beloved" - this is so true for me yet it has taken me many more years than you to discover.

I also am now influenced anew by your understanding about how GIVING up/away and letting go can give us both POWER and HUMILITY and what Power and Humility this is - unlike any other.

Your words here strike me much as the revised RR...have you seen this post, Khurram Ali Shafique Sahib? :)

I completely agree with u that "Humanity as a whole has yet to plumb the depths of sacrifice and what this truly means".

Time has yet to reveal unto us a large spectrum of the small ray of light visible to us right now!

And what always amaze and inspire me is the similarity in the experiences of all of us... It strengthens my beliefs on my own words... Thanks for reading the post and for ur lovely comments! :)

Collapsing Global Political trends - Are we in need of a new political system?

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair" Charles Dickens; A Tale of two cities Capitol Hill under siege There is no better description of the current global socio-political scenario than these infamous words of Dickens.  After a year of pandemic and political incapacity to unanimously contain an emergency situation at the global center stage, the world is witnessing a dichotomy that has never been so evident before. In contrast to the Cold War era, when the world was divided into two distinct blocks with individuals from each of the block fighting and dying for their own political ideology, the current division is present deeper within the masses in respective countries. US elections 2020 revealed that this division is rampant with

Waves of sorrow and the fertile hearts!

The recent Monsoon season and the heavy rainfall we received poured some questions in the minds of many a people across Pakistan. In this post I would like to address three of such questions, according to my personal opinion, and would also like to know what you think about these questions. The questions are: ·          Why did a natural disaster as devastating as the recent floods hit us? ·          What can we at an individual and national level do for the relief of millions of people who are desperately looking towards us for help? And ·          In what way is the flood going to affect us, as a nation, in the long-term? Considering from different angles many different perspectives can be observed. Some believe that the ‘timely’ construction of large dams in the country could have helped storing water in the reservoirs, hence reducing the chances of floods. Others are of the opinion that as regular cleaning of the river channels in the Northern region of the country was not observ

The Unconscious Self

“What color do you like?” “I prefer red.” “But why do u like it? There must be some reason.” “The only reason is that… THERE’S JUST NO REASON” There comes many such moments in our life when ‘There’s just no reason’ behind some of our actions or thoughts. Yet we feel determined to carry them out. This is the point when our unconscious steps in our conscious world and leaves indelible marks on it. Unconscious has a considerable effect on one’s way of life but the nature of the exact relation it has with the conscious self is mysterious. Also the fact that despite having seemingly conflicting nature one’s conscious and subconscious usually go together in an efficient way deepens this mystery further, thus making it more appealing for researches and study. Life is a complete system and the process of living needs every component of that system to work in harmony. That is why we should not consider that the unconscious and the conscious do not supplement each other.
