Emperor Jahangir, portrayed in this contemporary painting, has remained one of the most enigmatic and charismatic figures in our history. Here, he wanted to be seen as preferring Sufis over the kings (the monarch in the bottom-left corner is apparently the contemporary British king, James I).
The Indian subcontinent ( the modern Label) is so much indebted to all our Mughal Emperer's taste, their approach to art , music etc Yet some of their personal life was so sad specially in the last few years of their lives. But then This is the fate of all creative persons even in modern times, I suppose. A much awaited post from you Namrah my little friend
